    Lack of sleep affects kids with ADHD more...for a Lack of sleep affects kids with ADHD more...for a number of reasons. One of which can be low nutrient levels. And that lack of sleep leads to increased difficulty concentrating and managing emotions. It’s hard to know exactly how to help your kid live with ADHD, but making sure they get enough nutrients is a no-brainer. Without the raw materials to help their brains grow and develop, they can’t reach their full potential. Did you know certain nutrients consistently show up at lower levels in kids with ADHD? And these 3 specifically can make getting a good night’s sleep impossible: -Magnesium -Iron -Vitamin D But that doesn’t mean you should run out and grab all these nutrients! Most picky eaters don’t enjoy iron-rich foods such as: Organ meats Shellfish Red meat Tofu Beans (kidney, black) and legumes Pumpkin seeds Turkey Fortified cereals Sesame seeds Broccoli and spinach To make matters worse, low iron can decrease appetite, leading to a vicious cycle of low iron and fussiness.
